New Bethel Reformed Episcopal Church is located in the historic city of Charleston South Carolina. We are a member of the Diocese of the Southeast of the Reformed Episopal Church. Our church's mantra is "Evangelizing Till He Comes."
New Bethel was founded in 1922 as "Bethel Reformed Episcopal Church" in Union Heights, North Charleston. In 1987 the church moved to its present location, 1941 Helm Avenue, North Charleston and was renamed "New Bethel."
We are Espiscopal in our goverenance--a Bishop is the head of our church. We are Liturgical in our worship--the Book of C0mmon Prayer gives us our order of worship. We are Biblical in our stance--we stand firmly on the Word of God. We are Sacramental in our belief--we observe the Holy sacraments of Baptism and Communion.
The Diocese of the Southeast had the honor of sharing in the consencration of our newly elected Bishop Ordinary, The Rt. Rev. Alphonza Gadsden.
